Decimal odds are the clearest and most intuitive for Pakistani bettors — the number you see is simply your total return multiplied by your stake, including the stake itself. If you back Pakistan at 2.05 and stake Rs 1,000, your total return if Pakistan wins is Rs 2,050. Your profit is Rs 1,050. That's it. No fractions to calculate, no confusion about whether your stake is included. One number people rarely talk about but should understand is the overround — also called the bookmaker's margin or the "vig." On any given market, if you add up the implied probabilities behind all the odds on offer, the total will come to more than 100%. That excess above 100% represents the bookmaker's built-in edge. A market with a 2% overround is far more favourable to bettors than one with a 10% overround, because more of the money wagered is returned as winnings rather than kept by the house.
